Management performance of the organization is influenced by a variety of public or private legal persons, of different sizes and importance, and individuals. The actions of these "actors", as defined in the context of "stakeholders" corporate management, assures practically market adjustment mechanism, with direct or indirect impact on variables that describe performance management. Stakeholder analysis involves assessing the influence and their importance through the following criteria:
- The degree to which stakeholders have the ability to positively or negatively influence organizational performance, quantified by means of benchmarking indicators. It is caused by a power that stakeholder have in order to promote and impose their interests on the market, to control the important resources or access to key information.
- Sphera of influence of stakeholders, both measured in terms of customers affected by its actions and through the geographical area covered.
- Economic power of stakeholders, described by the main technical and economic-financial indicators which characterize the activity, volume and type of available resources, its ability to attract external funding sources, etc.
- Interest manifested by stakeholders Interest manifestated by the stakeholders in terms of ensuring a high degree of management efficiency and effectiveness.
- Status or social position of the stakeholder, that its credibility and recognition locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, the existence of certification under which it operates.
Stakeholder analysis includes the following components:
- Identification and definition of the stakeholders.
- Definition and characterization of interest groups.
- Elaboration of the stakeholders’ matrix.
- Impact study of the pressure manifested by the stakeholders on the performance of the organization.
- General diagnosis of the stakeholders’ system.
- Recommendation of a general model to optimize the relationship between the stakeholder interests and the performance of the organization.
